In this context, Recycle Up! Ghana in partnership with the Coca- Cola Foundation has provided Premier Waste with a bailer which will significantly contribute to the cause of sustainability.
Recycle Up! Ghana is a leading sustainability organization that aims to educate, create awareness, and co-create local solutions to the plastic waste problem in Ghana. The Coca Cola Foundation is also known for making a difference around the world by investing in transformative ideas and institutions and solving pressing global challenges and complex environmental and social problems that impact the world. In collaboration with a local plastic collection and recycling company, a bailer was donated to help them improve their recycling capabilities.
Due to the volume of waste Premier Waste receives, processing was not done efficiently. The introduction of the bailer has significantly improved their operations, enabling them to process more waste in less time, and increasing the efficiency of their recycling process.
In addition to improving the efficiency of plastic recycling, the bailer has also reduced the environmental impact of transporting plastic waste. Since the plastic waste is now compressed into bales, it takes up less space and can be transported more efficiently, reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.
