Recycle Up! Ghana has successfully been launched in Accra. There were a lot of education and information on Waste Management in Ghana and the way forward.
Recycle Up! Ghana seeks  to  increase pupils’ awareness of environmental issues, to provide a  better understanding of the potential adverse societal effects implied by excessive plastic waste pollution as well as to develop a sustainable, local recycling solution preventing such. These objectives are to be accomplished through the project’s main element: a two-week long summer camp.
The purpose of the gathering was said by Rahim, the national coordinator of Recycle Up! Ghana. The first speaker, Mrs. Mary Sefa Boampong who is from the Institute of Distance Learning, University of Ghana spoke about Environmental Sanitation in Ghana and the way forward.
There were video transitions from team members of Recycle Up! Ghana who spoke about their past experiences at the camp as well as their expectations for the camps in 2016.
Gideon Commey from the Ghana Youth Environment Movement, Akua Akyaa from Green Ghana, Cordie from Environment 360 as well as Alfred Adjabeng, a YALI Mandela Washington Fellow and the programs manager at School Farm Project all gave talks about what they do and offered great support to Recycle Up! Ghana.
Dr. Dzidzo Yirenya-Tawiah also from Environment and Sanitation Studies, University of Ghana gave an exciting talk on the Environment, Waste and how to deal with the waste in Ghana. She made very good references to examples in the Bible.
Musical Interlude came from Seyram GH, who gave sizzling tunes with his Guitar and got everyone singing along. His music reflected on the the environment, preservation and the need to go green as a nation and a people.
Sampson Oboh, a co-founder of Recycle Up! and Rahim, the national coordinator of Recycle Up! Ghana. Â Ghana launched the event with all the guests and speakers present.
