Recycle Up Ghana in partnership with the Netherlands development foundation (SNV) and its partner hubs organized a forum for women entrepreneurs on the 10th of December 2021. The forum engaged women entrepreneurs in the Ashanti region. The program was a dialogue on the inclusion of women in the Green eco-space, and the event was geared towards the recruitment for cohort 3 of the SNV GrEEn Project which will be an all-female cohort.

The program kick-started with a talk on the Importance of Green businesses in the environment, which was delivered by Mr Fredrick Acquah the business development advisor for SNV Ghana, this was followed by the role women play in the Green environment which was delivered by Mrs Rita Krampah the Mentor for the SNV Cohort 1 SMEs.

 

The lively session included discussions on the importance of women in the Green sector, a question and answer session, where the women expressed their concerns which was duly resolved. The session was crowned with an exciting exhibition session with several businesses showcasing their innovative GrEEn businesses.

 

The forum had over a hundred women in attendance. The GrEEn project, is a four-year project primarily funded by the European Union, together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana, SNV Netherlands Development Organization and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF).
